Running C-lightning on VPS and connecting to my bitcoin full node on windows pc

I am running my bitcoin full node on my Windows 10 pc. My ip address is dynamic. I am running C-lightning on a remote vps. How can I use my full node (in server mode) for my C-lightning instance? Can I use ngrok to expose the port for rpc connections to it so I don't have to run bitcoind and download blockchain on my vps in conjuction with C-lightning since my vps does not have a big enough hdd to support the blockchain download? I have opened the port on router so local machines can access it but remote machines obviously cannot connect to my node. Can I use putty? Easyphp webserver? Tor hidden server?

Any ideas will help......

How to set up a Bitcoin full node on Linux VPS (pruning node)

This tutorial is for Linux Debian based OS (Ubuntu) at least with 1GB of RAM and 20 GB SSD. There are a few guides out there about how to set it up..but still not good enough. My Bitcoin Segwit node now is running on my VPS (yes I know it's not the best option but still..) I found few articles.. Due to these articles I’ve kept the below quite brief.
Please note: Before you start.. Your server may still be finishing installing and booting up during the first few minutes of activation. In this tutorial i'm using Linux Ubuntu 16.04 x64 LTS.
Secure VPS server (Firewall rules)
Command may disrupt existing SSH connection. Proceed with operation (y|n) ? Type y and hit ENTER.
Install the Bitcoin Core daemon (bitcoind)
Press ENTER to continue
Do you want to continue? Type y and hit enter.
Create a Bitcoin user
Enter new UNIX password (whatever you want) and then it will ask for your full name, room number, work phone, home phone, other (press the Enter key to skip). Is the information correct? Type y and hit ENTER.
Set up log rotation
Enter into it:
Press CTRL+X (if you are using nano editor) and then it will say something like this - Save modified buffer (ANSWERING "No" WILL DESTROY CHANGES) ? Type y and hit ENTER.
Configure Bitcoin
Add to the file:
prune=550
Press CTRL+X (if you are using nano editor) and then it will say something like this - Save modified buffer (ANSWERING "No" WILL DESTROY CHANGES) ? Type y and hit ENTER.
Press CTRL+D to log out of the Bitcoin
Configure swap space
The node we created only has 1GB so we’ll make some spare “virtual memory” using swap space.
Add this line at the end of the file:
Press CTRL+X (if you are using nano editor) and then it will say something like this - Save modified buffer (ANSWERING "No" WILL DESTROY CHANGES) ? Type y and hit ENTER.
Set up the Bitcoin daemon to auto-run.
Enter into it (copy paste this):
Press CTRL+X (if you are using nano editor) and then it will say something like this - Save modified buffer (ANSWERING "No" WILL DESTROY CHANGES) ? Type y and hit ENTER.
Reload systemd and start bitcoind:
You can use https://bitnodes.21.co/nodes/ to check if your node is running! If there is something wrong, please let me know that. I'm still learning ;)

I just set up a Bitcoin Unlimited node on a VPS. I'm looking for confirmation that I did it the right way.

First off, let me say that I was surprised how easy this was. This took maybe half an hour. My primary motivation for running the node is to declare that I vote for Bitcoin Unlimited. But I would appreciate any feedback to let me know whether the following simple steps that I took are OK, or whether there is something I'm missing or can do better.
I already had a VPS running Ubuntu, so I thought I would use that one. It has just 50 GB of storage available, so I decided to run a pruning node.
Since I am running Ubuntu, I followed these instructions from here to get the software installed:
sudo apt-get install software-properties-common sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bitcoin-unlimited/bu-ppa sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install bitcoind
Then I started the node with
bitcoind --daemon -prune=550
And now it is downloading and verifying blocks, as I am able to confirm with this command:
bitcoin-cli getblockchaininfo
I made sure that port 8333 is open, and used this page to confirm that the node can be seen by others.

Fully synced Bitcoin Core is using 50% CPU. Is there a way to reduce this, or is this all being used to process transactions? How can people run full nodes on $5/mo VPS servers?

This is on a single core of a Ivy Bridge/Haswell 32 core CPU. The VPS also has 1.7 GB RAM (I know this is a little low, but it does have swap space). Nothing else on the server is using this CPU, and there is very little running, other than Bitcoin. I tried it with just 4 connections and port 8333 closed and it makes no difference. It was obviously at 100% CPU for the blockchain sync (which took 2 weeks), and it's been at a stable 50% for a few days now, with occasional spikes over 100% (it's burstable). My question is, why is CPU usage this high? This server also needs to be for nginx and node, so I don't want Bitcoin to take up the whole CPU if the block size is increased in the coming months.

Instructions for settings up a Bitcoin Unlimited node on a VPS

I've been meaning to setup a bitcoin unlimited node for a while and today I finally got some time to do it.
I thought it would be a very straightforward process but I'm struggling to find a clean, step-by-step tutorial. Clicking on the "Contribute" link from the official website sends me to the improvement proposals (instead of a list of ways I could contribute, for example).
So, I've been following the bitcoin.org tutorial for running a Bitcoin Core Daemon and will replace the .tar.gz file download by the one from bitcoinunlimited.info.
Would you say that is the way to go?
Thanks!
(I'm running a Centos 7 64-Bit VPS, btw)

I would like to run a Tor relay myself on a VPS, but I'd like to pay in Bitcoin. Where can I go?

I'd like to run a Tor relay on a VPS, but I'd like to stay anonymous. I'd prefer to pay in bitcoin, and also not have to register an email address with the VPS provider. Does anyone have any experience with this? I've looked at the Good/Bad ISP page, but only a few mention bitcoin specifically.
Thanks in advance!

Recommended server/vps for torrent client which takes bitcoin - possibly anon & torrents mounted on seperate server - sshfs?

I would like to decouple the content of my seedbox and the rutorrent client and run them on seperate servers and have learnt elsewhere sshfs is a way to achieve this.
This way I can use a normal server as my own 'file locker' and the 'rutorrent server' can do its job and if needs be can be changed without affecting my data - exactly the same as a domain name pointing at a site.
I'm on a kimsufi at the moment - and am stuck at what to use for the frontend in my proposed setup - i have no exp with vps's - but would like it to be bitcoin/anon/dmca free etc.
This may be a terrible idea but I would sure appreciate any input! Thanks
