wallet.dat in Bitcoin Core 0.20 ver not found in AppData Windows 10

Hi everyone,
In the latest version of Bitcoin Core ver. 0.20 there seems to be no Bitcoin folder in the C:\Users\ABC\AppData\Roaming - hence wallet.dat is not stored in there.

Does anyone have experience with this and knows where it's now stored please?
I would appreciate your sharing and thanks a lot.

Has anyone had difficulty installing the client from github posted 4 days ago for windows of Bitcoin Atom 0.15.99.3 wallet. Mine does not run a visible wallet, tho it did drop files in the appdata/roaming. Weird. Any ideas please? [win 64 bit.]

Moving wallet to another computer, can I copy the "blocks" folder (from ~appdata\bitcoin) to avoid syncing the blockchain again?

Title pretty much says it all. Wallet is synced and on one computer... I want to reinstall windoze on it so it's actually not moving to a different computer but I assume it's just the same. So obviously I'm copying the wallet.dat backup... But I was wondering if I could also keep the 15.7Gb blockchain to avoid downloading it again? When I restore it afterwards, can I just drop the wallet.dat and blocks folder in the appdata\bitcoin?
Or is there more to it than that?

Feel free to stop at Level 0 or Level 1, which is fine. More advanced configs are offered to those with more tech savvy. This guide, obviously assumes a Windows 10 install, but other OSes work fine, just find a different guide. BTW, the "For Dummies" is a callback to a set of "tech" books in the 90's intended to be as easy as possible. It is in jest and not intended to insult the reader. Finally, if you dislike the formatting, a well formatted copy can be found here
There is a fairly small subset of Bitcoin users that run a full node. I think the idea of running a full node has gotten a bad rap over the years since there is so much talk about running on a Raspberry Pi, or getting zippy SSDs. Although all of this can be fun, it is often not really required at all. Here are some ways to run a full node starting with the very simple. I'll get into more complex configs, but these are all optional.

Tech Skill Level: 0 (the basics)

  1. Download Bitcoin Core
  2. Launch the downloaded installer and install the app
  3. Launch the installed "Bitcoin Core" app and let it run overnight
In many cases, thats it. If your running a new machine with a fairly good internet connection, 8 or 9 hours will be enough to complete the "Initial Block Download" (IBD). This may fill up your drive a bit, but again, on most new machines, 300 GB of space isn't that hard to come by.

Tech Skill Level: 1 (encrypted wallet)

One thing we left out in the level-0 exercise is encrypting your wallet. It's easy enough to do well, but a bit more difficult to do right. The main challenge is that humans generate really poor passwords. If you want a good password, the best way is to use something called "diceware". Basically, you just grab 4 or 5 dice and each throw of the dice represents a certain word on a special list. The throw {1,4,5,3,1} for example would be the word camping on the EFF-diceware-wordlist. So you repeat this a few times until you have a list of 8 or so words which becomes the passphrase you use to encrypt your wallet. Write it down, it is always hard to remember at first. So at level-1 your list becomes:
  1. Download Bitcoin Core
  2. Launch the downloaded installer and install the app
  3. Launch the installed "Bitcoin Core" app and let it run overnight
  4. Choose Encrypt Wallet from the Settings menu
  5. Enter your 8 word (or so) passphrase generated using the Diceware method

Tech Skill Level: 2 (enable pruning if needed)

Though I said "300 GB of space isn't hard to come by", some times it actually is. If space is an issue, a simple way to fix it is to tell bitcoin to simple take less space. This is called "pruning" and can take that number from 300 GB down to below 5 GB. If you can't find 5 GB, then you'll have to read ahead to level-4 to add USB storage. But the good news is, enabling pruning is pretty easy, we just add another step to our working list:
  1. Download Bitcoin Core
  2. Launch the downloaded installer and install the app
  3. Launch the installed "Bitcoin Core" app and let it run overnight
  4. Do the wallet encryption steps here if you wish
  5. Choose Options from the Settings menu
  6. Choose Prune block storage to: and select the max size for the blocks to use
  7. Exit and restart the bitcoin application for the changes to take effect

Note, even setting this to 1 GB will still leave you with about a 4.5 GB install. The blocks take up a lot of space, but the chainstate and other folders eat up at least 3.5 GB and they can't be pruned. Also, be aware, to disable pruning requires you to perform the entire IBD again. While pruned some other functions my be disabled as well, so just know that pruning does limit some functionality.

Tech Skill Level: 3 (verify the installer)

Although this is arguably something that should be done at level-0, some find the intricacies of comparing hash (thumbprint) values to be tedious and beyond the scope of a beginner. You will find these types of hash compares suggested quite often as a way to prevent running tainted programs. Programs are often tainted by bad disk or network performance, but most often, taint is malicious code inserted by viruses or malware. This is a way to guard yourself against those types of attacks.
What I cover here is a very basic comparison on the certificate, but a more thorough verification advised by mosts uses a program called Gpg4Win, and is beyond the scope of this beginners guide. But regardless, most users should strive to do this minimum level of validation.
  1. Download Bitcoin Core
  2. Launch the downloaded installer
  3. When prompted "Do you want to allow..." click Show more details
  4. In the details section select Show information about the publisher's certificate
  5. In the certificate window select the Details tab
  6. In the Details tab Subject should start with "CN = Bitcoin Core Code Signing Association"
  7. Ensure Thumbprint in Details reads ea27d3cefb3eb715ed214176a5d027e01ba1ee86
  8. If the checks pass, click OK to exit the certificate window and Yes to allow the installer to run.
  9. Launch the installed "Bitcoin Core" app and let it run overnight
  10. Do the wallet encryption steps here if you wish
  11. Do the optional pruning steps here if you wish

Certification Validation Windows
Note: The certificate used to sign the current Bitcoin installer is only valid from March 2020 to March 2021. After that point the thumbprint on the certificate will change. This is by design and intentional. If your reading this post after March 2021, then it is understood that the thumbprint has changed.

Tech Skill Level: 4 (use secondary storage)

We glossed over the "new machine with fairly good internet" part. Truth be known many people do not have fairly new machines, and find the IBD to take longer than the "over night" best wishes. For most people the slowdown is the disk access when calculating what is called chainstate. This requires fast random reads and writes to the disk. If you have an SSD disk, this will be no problem, but if you have a non-SSD "spinning" disk, random writes are always slow. Though an SSD will speed things up, they are pricey, so a nice middle ground may be a simple high-end USB key drive. You can get some with 10 to 15 MB/s random writes for $20 on Amazon. This is usually a order of magnitude faster than a "spinning" disk. And with pruning (see level-2), a small USB drive should be fine.
Once you decide on a drive, the tricky part will be to enable external storage. It requires editing a configuration file and adding a line. First, we want to create a directory on the key drive. You will need to determine the drive letter of your USB key drive. For the sake of this example, we will assume it is D:, but you must determine this yourself and correct the example. Once you know the drive letter, create a blank folder on the drive called Bitcoin. So for this example, creating Bitcoin on drive D: will create the path D:\Bitcoin. Once done, assuming that D: is your drive, here are the new steps including the edit of the configuration file:
  1. Download Bitcoin Core
  2. Launch the installer, verify it, then run it
  3. Launch the installed "Bitcoin Core" app and let it run overnight
  4. Do the wallet encryption steps here if you wish
  5. Do the optional pruning steps here if you wish
  6. Launch "Notepad" by typing "Notepad.exe" in the windows search bar then click Open
  7. Type the line datadir=D:\Bitcoin (depending on your drive letter) in the blank file
  8. Choose Save from the File menu in notepad
  9. Type %APPDATA%\Bitcoin\bitcoin.conf (note the percent signs) in the File name box
  10. Select All Files from the Save as type dropdown
  11. Click the Save button and overwrite the file if prompted
  12. Exit and restart the bitcoin application for the changes to take effect

Now that you've reached this level of technical expertise, there are many new configuration options that you can begin to modify if you wish. Most configuration data is contained in the bitcoin.conf file and learning how to maintain it is a key step for a node operator.

Tech Skill Level: 5 (all other customizations)

Here's a short list of various things you can ADD to your bitcoin.conf file. You generally just add a new line for each configuration settings.
  • addresstype=bech32
  • changetype=bech32
The addresstype / changetype allows your wallet to use the native-segwit (bech32) format. This is the most efficient and inexpensive way to spend bitcoin, and is a recommended configuration. The default uses something called p2sh-segwit which is more compatible with older wallets, but more expensive to spend.
  • minrelaytxfee=0.00000011
Changing the minrelaytxfee setting allows you to help propagate lower fee transactions. It will require more memory but TXN memory is capped at 300 MB by default anyways, so if you have enough memory, it is a good setting to choose.
  • dbcache=2048
The dbcache setting controls how many MB of memory the program will use for the chainstate database. Since this is a key bottleneck in the IBD, setting this value high (2048 MB) will greatly speed up the IBD, assuming you have the memory to spare
  • blocksdir=C:\Bitcoin
  • datadir=D:\Bitcoin
In level-4 we discussed moving the datadir to a fast external storage, but the majority of the space used for bitcoin is the blocks directory (blocksdir). Although you should always use for fastest storage for datadir, you are free to use slow storage for blocksdir. So if you only want to consume a small amount of your SSD (assumed D:) then you can keep your blocks on your slow "spinning" drive.
  • upnp=1
One of the harder challenges you may face running a node, is to get incoming connections. If you are lucky, you may find that your firewall and network HW support the uPnP protocol. If they do, this setting will allow bitcoin to configure uPnP to allow incoming connections to your node. Other methods exist to make your node reachable, but they are well beyond the scope of this guide.

DONT LOSE YOUR TRX LIKE I DID😩

I wish I didn't do this mistake but I did, and even though nobody will blame anyone but me...
(I know I do for the most part, but I also partly blame Google)
You see I've been using tronlink in chrome for about a year now and I made around $130 from 20 dollars worth of bitcoin I got from coinbase earn program. AND I LOVE IT!
The only thing is the mnemonic keys that I struggle with, I used to store them on a USB, this wallet was no exception, recently I lost this USB due to becoming homeless for awhile and as stupid as I am I carried the USB in my jeans during a rainy winter. (My grandmother, mom and dad all offered me a place to stay so no worries guys) still had my old PC drive at my dad's house from selling it when I was tryna make some bank so I installed it a couple days ago and got back to grinding TRX, bought some BNKR daily+ and so on..
Anyways my girl was using my computer today for finding a part time since we both lost our jobs this year...
and signed in on her Gmail which made her gmail the standard gmail for the CHROME PROFILE(Note this!! Its the little circle next to the extensions in the chrome browser)
So I googled how to change this, I thought I would backup my private key once I was done, should've done it days ago but didn't think of it until today when she was messing around in my browser (Yes I got really nervous since she isn't very computer friendly 😂)
So I stumbled on Google's support tickets and a top answer told me to just delete the chrome profile and setup a new one since history and bookmarks would come back once I signed in...
(They didn't btw, you need sync activated for that, however when you remove the profile it doesn't say that, it just says that you can log on again and it comes back)
But here's where the warning comes in: IT ALSO REMOVES ALL EXTENSIONS! and it says itself that if you dont have your key you won't be getting your wallet back.
Some steps you can take to avoid this situation:
  1. Saving your key somewhere you can access it remotely, like in an email to yourself or in a private document on the cloud.
  2. If you're on windows backup the chrome "Users" folder in the appdata directory (a quick Google search will show you how)
  3. Turn on autobackup on your PC so you can revert the users folder if necessary.
  4. Write your key on a piece of paper and store it somewhere it won't move or be damaged, like a safe or with your mom like I did (she studied to be a lawyer so she's amazing with documents)
  5. Store your trx on binance so you can login using email and recover password if you lose your wallet.

TL;DR
If you remove your chrome profile on chrome and dont have a backup of anything you will lose your wallet! Your chrome profile is the circle next to the extensions in the chrome browser. (To be extra clear: its to the left of the three dots in the top right corner where you go to settings, history and stuff like that)

I found a lost bitcoin wallet from 2012

So I was going through an old laptop and found the wallet.dat file in %APPDATA%. If I remember correctly I had 0.7 bitcoins mined.
Could anyone with knowledge please help with a couple of questions?
  1. is the balance stored in the wallet itself or do you use it to download blockchain info or some such to work it out?
  2. What can I use to view my wallet? I've read that there are a few formats (Berkley, Level) depending on age. I'd love a simple C# lib or small open source exe..
  3. Is the wallet locked with a password?

Factory reset my phone and it backed up from the cloud. My bitcoin.com wallet was restored with all funds while my other wallets had to restore from seed. Is the bitcoin.com wallet being backed up to the cloud unencrypted in clear text?

Anyone who has access to the cloud (government) could easily access/view/steal my bitcoin. Is there something I'm missing?
EDIT with further details: This is an Android Samsung Galaxy device, using the default backup and restore function (which is enabled by default). As far as I know, Samsung backs up apps, phone settings and other stuff like notes if you use those, but not appdata (individual app settings). Google backs up the appdata so that your apps will restore with all the same settings you had before.
All of my other crypto apps came back with me having to restore from seed. Even my banking apps and any other app that requires a login & password, I had to log back in to get access.
But my bitcoin.com wallet came back with all my previous settings, as well as funds being available. This tells me that the bitcoin.com wallet is storing the seed words in plain text, and then the phone is automatically backing that into the cloud along with the app's appdata / settings.
That isn't right. It should be keeping the seed words encrypted and unable to access unless you have the same device. Any other device (including the cloud) should have that information stored in encrypted form and unable to access unless you have seed words or a password to decrypt.
IMO this is a pretty bad security decision by the bitcoin.com wallet developers. Definitely shouldn't be keeping more than like $20 in it, or anything you're okay with having stolen by hackers or seized by governments.

Recovering 2013 bitcoin wallet

I found my old 2011 pc and need to restore my wallet from a wallet.dat file

Hello All, long time lurker here. Dabbled in Bitcoin since 2011 when hardcore roomates were in it. I got in and out of bitcoins a few times since then but found an old hard drive that may have a few lose coins on it from back when it was only worth a few dollars.
Is it possible to restore a wallet and see whats left in it from a wallet.dat file?

WARNING: Clipboard MITM attack on Windows in the wild

TLDR: Windows malware intercepts a BTC address copied to the clipboard so that the pasted address is different, diverting funds to the attackers wallet which has 8.8 BTC of transactions. It mangles an XMR address. Visually inspect every transaction destination address before clicking OK!
Update: source for the malware found: a win32diskimager.exe downloaded from download.cnet.com, of all places, with a total of 4,500 downloads. More in the update at the bottom of the post.

Original post:
I was setting up xmr-stak on my Windows desktop as the Linux version requires compiling which I'm not comfortable with. I was getting invalid address errors from the pool with two different wallet addresses, and I knew one of them is a good address with certainty having done transactions with it in the past.
After further head-scratching I noticed that the XMR address I copy from my password manager to the config file differs from the one that's pasted! I didn't notice it as the beginning and end characters are the same; the substitution is in the middle. The substitution can be defeated easily by copy-pasting the address in two chunks. But it does substitute the incorrect address even when the address is part of a longer string, such as the entire config file.
The fact that it generates invalid addresses (every time?) made me suspect this attack is meant for some other coin, most likely Bitcoin. I tested with a few BTC and BCH addresses, and it indeed generates the same address every time (below). Possibly the XMR attack is a by-product for the hack searching for BTC address strings, and it spits out an address without destination when confronted with an XMR address. [edit: After doing some further checks, the malware seems to look for the first "1" in the address and substitutes it with his BTC address below. I just learned that (one type of) BTC address always starts with a "1", which confirms the theory.]
While I believe this only allows the attacker to divert BTC funds to his address and doesn't compromise my XMR wallet or private keys, I already created a new wallet on my Linux machine, and moved my funds there. Now I'm considering doing this for all my coins as who knows what other monsters lurk behind the SSDs...
I thought I run a pretty tight ship with my desktop and cryptos, and do most of my computing in Linux. I only install wallets linked from the official websites, and verify checksums. I had heard of such attacks before, and always double-check the pasted address when moving funds. Fortunately I didn't lose any money as I noticed this while setting up XMR mining.
Somehow this got to my computer, and I have to deal with it and tighten my controls. Now, is there a secure way to clean my computer, or should I re-install Windows completely?

ALWAYS visually check that the address you send to is actually the one you copied. Don't just skip past the withdrawal confirmation page on your exchange; double-check that it is identical to the one you intend to send funds to.
Update:
Many have asked about the potential source. I know it's not an email as I don't use POP, and don't open attachments. Likely attack vectors are web ads, PDFs, or some crypto software I've installed recently. Haven't found the source, though.
For cleaning, F-Prot didn't find anything, Malwarebytes found the following and I quarantined them. After resetting twice my clipboard copies a Bitcoin address correctly. I will still re-install Windows completely just to be safe.

F-Secure didn't recognize anything then or today. I downloaded again just now, and it's infected. I reran it through Malwarebytes as well and it doesn't detect malware, either, only after the payload has been delivered.
Thanks again to u/gugap and others for helping find the source! Given the source is a CNET site I had less reason to suspect it, so I don't feel like a total idiot.
On the other hand, it's pretty scary that 4,500 (!) people have downloaded that file in the past two years (!!), over three hundred in the past week alone! I reported the file to CNET.
Also, it is very difficult to avoid such malware if AV doesn't detect it, and it's coming from a legit site. Time to ditch Windows for good, and start using airgapped TAILS for working with private keys.

Transferred out of exchange to bitcoin core, not enough storage to sync the blockchain, help?

I feel like a proper idiot right now. I bought some bitcoin, transferred it to bitcoin core, not realising the blockchain is 110GB, I don't have storage for that. So I exported the transaction into a csv, uninstalled bitcoin core and deleted the chain to make room for MultiBit. Now I'm wondering how do I add my bitcoin using the address hash to my MultiBit wallet, can anyone help?
Update: I have taken my computer to a pc repair place where they will try and recover the wallet.dat file. He said he's not too sure it will work because its an ssd drive. Will update with result

The wallet is passworded
If I want to import the coins into ABC - will i need to enter the password?
How can I do this safely? I am concerned about ... everything so dont want to fuck up.
Could I import the wallet into ABC, then on the Core application send the coins to a new bitcoin core wallet, and be able to spend ABC(cash) coins?
Or do I need to have coins in the original wallet to be able to spend the ABC cash coins...

So I noticed a lot of people recently (including myself) are experiencing the error "Wallet daemon can not be run. Check if daemon does not already run" when trying to open up their ZCL Eleos wallet, and people are unable to access their funds or cannot export their private keys as well. A solution to this is now official (thanks to JBrutWhat from the BTCP team for helping me out on this.) Note: Post is being edited as more info becomes available to me.
This solution also works for users who are on the ZClassic Swing wallet experiencing the error "A general unexpected critical error has occurred: error: Couldn't connect to server, see the console output for more detailed error information!."
Eleos Wallet Troubleshooting section
ZClassic Electrum Wallet
  1. Create a new standard wallet and restore the 2FA wallet using your "seed" codes. DO NOT password protect this wallet.
  2. Disable the 2FA feature when presented with the option.
  3. Navigate to C:/Users/YOUR-NAME/AppData/Roaming/Electrum-zcl/wallets. Open the new standard wallet file with Notepad.
  4. You will need to gather the 2 private keys and one public key. To find this easily, press “CTRL+F” and search for “xprv”. Copy the 2 “xprv” values as well as the last “xpub” value. You will need these in a later step.
  5. Create a new “Multi-signature wallet”. Select “From 3 co-signers” on the first slider. Select “Require 2 signatures” on the second slider.
  6. To add the first co-signer, click “Use public or private keys”. Enter the first xprv key in this box.
  7. Add the second co-signer via a private key also.
  8. Add the third co-signer with the public key. Complete the set-up.
  9. Your wallet funds now have the ability to be sent from the multi-signature wallet.
For Users who were already using the Electrum wallet beforehand, you can go to file > new/restore wallet > next > import zclassic private keys and input the private key you obtained from the walletaid tool, and it should import the wallet into the electrum wallet. Then from there, go to file > backup wallet and export a copy of the wallet.dat file onto an offline USB.
Reminder: Backup and delete the private keys file from your desktop pc/hard drive, move it into an offline USB for safekeeping. Do not leave it on an online device.

i have tried to uninstall and delete everything in the appdata folder for ledger live, and re-adding my account again, but the problem still persists. Been trying to send out litecoins but still cant after 3 days of trying.

Before we start I will get my disclaimer out of the way.
I do not work with/for any of the developers of these programs. I do not have all the answers. Some of these are my best guess, others may be wrong or may have a better solution than the one I give. Please feel free to correct me if this is the case and I will edit as we go.

So which one should I use?
It seems like it depends on what you want from the program, Awesome Miner is more like Nicehash in the way it looks but can be a little more complicated. MPM is pretty simple but it has less customization for those not familiar with programming.
 
NX18: "I find MPM to be better. No stability issues, no funky windows service always running in the background, and it checks MPH for best coin to mine whereas AM checks whattomine.com and they differ significantly sometimes."
 
MPM also has a minimum dev fee of 10 minutes per day (even if you set donate to 0) whereas AM does not seem to have dev fees. Both I believe have fees included that go to the devs of the miner programs themselves. However these fees for the miner devs will be attached whether you use MPM/AM or solo miner with the miner dev programs anyway.
 
 
Unresolved Questions
 
1. Anyone have solutions on crashing or very low Hashrates in sgminers with AMD GPU's in Awesome Miner?
2. Why is Lyra2Z using only 40% power from my GPU (GTX980ti)? Where/how can it tweak the settings?
I believe this is having to do with Awesome Miner 3.I did not see it asked or posted but I am curious if there's a way to bench all gpus. Instead of selecting gpu 0 and benching, waiting until its done and moving on to gpu 1 and so on. I have 8 nvidia gpus, just wondering if there's a way to auto bench all of them in a row so I can walk away and go to bed, be done I'm the middle of the night.
 
 
General MPH Questions
 
1.Hashrate is not the same on my miner as it is on the dashboard?
From MPH: "Hashrate showing on site is just an estimated value. Pool doesn't know about miner very much. It just collects certain "shares" which is some piece of hash that satisfies certain conditions. So don't worry, it's all about probability thing. Your hashrate on site can go up and down time to time."
There is some luck involved when mining in pools it is like playing the lottery. NiceHash paid at a certain rate because you were not mining coins and getting paid you were getting paid for the hash you are providing.
 
2. Balances on MPH what are the brackets?
The brackets are coins that have not yet been confirmed enough times on the blockchain. Any coins not in brackets have been confirmed.
 
3. How long will it take for my coins to show up, transfer to and from the exchange, be credited to my auto exchange coin?
 
I have been seeing a lot of questions about this so I made a flowchart which you can view Here
 
Short Answer: It depends could be minutes could be days
Long Answer: It has to be exchanged first and then placed in auto-exchange balance balance.
So you mine coin
Coin credited but unconfirmed (this can take time depending on coin)
Coin is confirmed and credited for auto exchange.
Coin is then placed on exchange. So again has to be transferred and again has to be confirmed but on exchange side.
Coin is most likely converted into btc then into auto-exchange coin at exchange.
Then auto-exchange coin is sent back to your balance on mph. So again has to be confirmed before appearing.
Depending on how fast a coin is confirmed will depend on how fast it appears in your balance.
If you stopped mining today it your balance most likely continue to grow over time.
However if you continue to mine it should in theory catch up and you will see you balance grow at a semi if not expected rate.
 
Supplemental:Forgive me if I'm misunderstanding, but this should mean it changes column, not disappears from balance entirely, no?
You will not know exact balance until it is sent back over from the exchange. This is because of the fact that you are exchanging the coins against one another. If one coin is up and one is down you could be losing or gaining value depending on the situation. This is why it seems that coins on the exchange disappear without your auto-exchange coins balance going up right away. Reference question 8 for more info
 
4. What is the best coin to auto-exchange?
This depends, just remember BTC has high transaction fees and can take some time to confirm. You will want to have a good amount of BTC before moving to your wallet to minimize the amount you lose to transaction fees.
I personally use LTC, it is quick and transaction fees are low compared to BTC but can still be exchanged for fiat on coinbase.
At the time of writing this, if you move BTC from MPH you will be charged a $4.96 fee, if you move LTC the fee to move to your wallet is $0.19
 
5. Can I hold on to certain coins instead of auto-exchanging them?
Yes, just go to auto exchange on MPH and switch off the coin you do not want to auto exchange.
 
6. This dashboard sucks! Why do they not have a one page dashboard?
Good news it is in the works, improvements are on the way so no need to keep posting about it!
 
7. Why is my coin not being exchanged?
Two possible reasons A)On balances page it says "coins that don't have enough volume on exchange for a certain amount of time will not be auto exchanged to desired coin. These coins may be sent back as original coin or btc."
B)On auto-exchange page. Mph accumulates coins so that they can be efficiently converted at the exchange. If a coins pool has not mined a certain amount it will not be sent over until it reaches the set number. It seems like it is transferred over to the exchange as one large amount instead of small amounts.
 
8. AwesomeMiner said I was going to make $X.XX dollars and when auto-exchange coins came in I made less than it said!
Couple things, do not take to heart the exact number it gives you. It is not exact remember it is like a lottery.
Remember your coins at first will trickle in over time but the longer you mine it will begin to average out.
Remember you are exchanging coins for you auto-exchange coin this means if there is a decrease or increase between them you could gain more or less.
Example if you mine VTC and auto-exchange into LTC.
You send VTC to auto-exchange it will most likely be converted into BTC first. If BTC is having a good day that day and has increased in price by 30% and VTC has not grown well that day you will be trading your VTC at a loss.
Then this same situation will happen again when converting the BTC to LTC.
So again a bit of a lottery you may gain or lose some of your mined coins value depending on the exchange rate between the coins at the time.
 
9. Add more Cryptonight coins please.
They are apparently working on adding new coins like Electroneum.
 
10. Why can't I auto-exchange BTC?
My theory is that it is because BTC is not mined on MPH, remember the coins are sent to the exchange when they hit a certain amount in order to make it efficient. Because BTC is not mined on MPH it would not be efficient to exchange BTC to other coins once it has been credited to your account.
 
11. Do I need a wallet for each coin I mine? How do I set-up a wallet?
No, only the coin(s) you want to get paid in. Click on coins pool on MPH and you will see a wallet option Add the correct address for each coin you want to be paid in, note you cannot use another coins address or you risk losing your coins. For example you should not put your Bitcoin address into your Litecoin wallet address section.
 
12. My wallet address keeps on changing, do I need to keep updating my wallet address?
Take from Coinbase: This is done to protect your privacy, so that a third-party can not view all other transactions associated with your account simply by using a blockchain explorer to look-up an address they know to be yours.
All addresses that have been generated for your account will remain associated with your account forever. They are safe to re-use to receive future payments, but for the prior stated reasons, we recommend using a unique address for all transactions.
 
13.Is there a easy way I can track my Profits/Hashrate/Workers?

14. I click on manage wallet from the balances menu and enter my account number, I get the error saying Failed to update your account: Invalid coin address.
Make sure you are adding the address to the correct coin. A bitcoin address for example should only be added to the bitcoin wallet, it should not be added to any other wallet. (Reference question 11)
 
15. Is there a fee for auto-exchange?
Yes 0.2%
 
 
Awesome Miner
 
1. I do not want to mine that algo, I turn it off but it still mines it!
Go to online services, edit, change profit switching from yes to no
 
2. Why is it mining something less profitable?
Make sure you go to tools and then benchmark Make sure you right click and save hashrate occasionally it will improve your profit switching over time.
 
3. I can't get the miner to run?
Did you exclude it from anti-virus?
You may need to reinstall.
Uninstall
then in search bar type in %localappdata%\awesomeminer (delete this folder)
Type in %appdata% go to awesome miner folder and delete this one as well
Reinstall awesomeminer
Do not run aweseomminer
Go to anti-virus and exclude all folders with awesomeminer (including the ones in the local and appdata folders)

5. Can I do anything to make improvements?
puch0021:You can use VertMiner (which is what is used by OCM) to increase your hash rate compared to AwesomeMiner's default CCminer. You have to choose it for Lyra instead of CC miner. See: http://www.awesomeminer.com/help/managedsoftware.aspx Download Vertminer and extract software. Go to awesomeminer's options -> managed software -> add new user defined mining software: Type in VertMiner for description, full compatibility mode, and compatible software as CCminer. Everything in the algorithm should be disabled expect Lyra2ReV2 which should be enabled. Double click in under defined command line argument and add lyra2v2 as text. Click ok. Go to profit profiles in awesome miner. Select nvidia GPU and edit. In the mining software list there should be a new VertMiner entry. Check this box to enable it. Then click configure and then under path click browse. Click local. Select the Vertminer folder you previously made. Now whenever lyra is called for, vertminer should be used. If you try to bench mark with this enabled, it will fail but it works for mining. You can then use your mining results to manually edit your profit profile value for Lyra2REv2 (that was otherwise has the old value for ccminer.) On my 1060 it went from 21 to 22.8. Keep in mind vertminer takes 2% dev fees but it still works out to be faster than cc miner. let me know if this was any help!
I used one click miners vertminer since it was already installed.
 
6. Whenever Awesome Miner starts on a new algo and opens new instances of the CLI miner application/s, the window steal the focus from whatever you're doing. Anyone else super annoyed by this? Anyone know of a way to prevent this?
Stop mining, click more, properties, environment, console window mode, hide window, start mining again.
 
 
MultiPoolMiner (MPM)
 
1. I see a yellow stripe wich says multipoolminer is between 7% and 17% more profitable, which is nice. under this strip I see 2 lines with miner, BTC and Euro. (in my case) which of those btc values end up on your miningpoolhub balance? or both?
NX18:" Neither. Those values are best guesses by that script, hence why beside the dollar figure it shows the +/- variance which sometimes is really high like 25%, meaning that scripts best guess could be wrong by that much"
It is showing the 2nd best, If it is not the best at the time it will not show that text and just give you the comparison.
 
2. It keeps say NiceHash API failed what should I do? You can ignore it or as chillfisch points out that you can just delete the nicehash folder to get rid of this warning.
